John O. Everett, Ph.D., CPA, is Professor of Accounting at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. John‘s teaching specialty is federal taxation. Dr. Everett has authored or coauthored over 90 articles in academic and professional journals and is also the coauthor of several textbooks, including CCH Practical Guide to Schedule M-3 Compliance, The HBJ Federal Tax Course, Income Tax Fundamentals, and Tax Planning with the Computer. He is the coeditor and coauthor of TaxPoint, published by Thomson Publishing as the first interactive tax textbook on the web. In 2007, Dr. Everett was presented with the Ray M. Sommerfeld/Ernst & Young Outstanding Educator Award by the American Taxation Association. This is a lifetime achievement award presented by the premier academic taxation association. Dr. Everett has worked on the Enrolled Agent Exam Review Course for over ten years, and is pleased to continue this collaboration with NSA.

Mr. Greenfeld holds many top-level software certifications and served on the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 Accountant and Customer Advisory Councils for Intuit, Inc., developers of QuickBooks Accounting Software. Prior to entering the consulting arena, Mr. Greenfeld was the CFO of an international real estate development company.

Bill has received the District Director’s Award twice from the Internal Revenue Service, has served the Public Accountants Association of Kansas in numerous positions including President. Scott R. Saunders, Senior Vice President, Asset Preservation, Inc. has an extensive background in Internal Revenue Code §1031 tax deferred exchanges, having been involved in structuring and overseeing more than 50,000 transactions during his nineteen years in the exchange industry. Mr. Saunders dedicates a significant portion of his time presenting classes on introductory and advanced §1031 exchange strategies to accountants, attorneys, financial advisors, real estate brokers and principals nationwide. In addition, he is a regular presenter of 8-hour CLE and CPE approved classes on advanced §1031 exchange issues and tenant-in-common (TIC). Mr. Saunders has been on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Exchange Accommodators, the national exchange industry trade association, and was a contributing author to the book Real Estate Exchanges: Using the Tax Deferred Exchange in Real Estate Investment Management. He has written over 100 articles on various aspects of §1031 tax deferred exchanges.

His organization involves itself in estate, retirement, business and income tax planning, including the preparation of estate and gift tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. Steve has written a number of books on tax and estate planning topics, including Income Taxation of Estates and Trusts, Preparing the Audit-Proof Federal Estate Tax Return and The Estate Planning Course and Retirement Distributions: Estate and Tax Planning Strategies. He also has lectured extensively throughout the United States, and has served as an adjunct professor of law at Rutgers Law School and Seton Hall Law School.

Carol W. Thompson has been featured as a tax expert in Ann Landers’ column, on ABC's Good Morning America, and in numerous print media including Newsweek, Kiplinger’s, Worth, Money Magazine, Forbes, Working Women, Accounting Today, and Modern Maturity. In 2001, she was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" by the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents in San Jose, CA. NAEA has also honored Carol as the "Educator of the Year" and the California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA) has honored Carol as "Enrolled Agent of the Year." She is a Graduate Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI), and is a current member of the faculty. She recently moved her practice to a 220 year-old farmhouse in rural Maine and now focuses on teaching, researching cases for audits and appeals for other practitioners, and tax preparation.
