NSA Leadership and Organization 


Board of Governors
The Board of Governors is composed of 17 members: President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, two most recent Past Presidents, and 11 District Governors.  (The Executive Vice President is a member ex officio of the Board.)

Committees
NSA conducts the core of its activities through five standing committees, each governed by an Administrative Chair. 

State Directors
The NSA State Directors, guided by the District Governors, represent the Society at the state level and act as a communications link for members, prospective members, and the public. They also serve as liaison for NSA to their respective Affiliated State Organizations.

Affilated State Organizations
Affiliated State Organizations  (ASOs) are independent societies and associations that have entered into a voluntary partnering with NSA for the betterment of the profession, to address issues of mutual interest, and to provide programs that benefit the members of both organizations. 



NSA Scholarship Foundation

The NSA Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization formed in 1969 in response to members firm commitment to education and the accounting profession. The Foundation administers NSA's scholarship program for students and an educational grant program for the practitioner community. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees.


Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation

Established in 1973 by NSA, the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) is an independent corporation that serves as the testing, accrediting, and monitoring organization for professionals accredited in accountancy and taxation.  ACAT confers five professional designations.  It is governed by a Board of Directors.
